Newquay surfs up

Located in the south-west of England, Newquay is famous as one of the best holiday locations in the United Kingdom, and rightly so. With many beautiful sandy beaches, the population always increases during the summer season as locals and tourists enjoy the area.

One of the finest beaches in Europe, if not the world, is Fistral Beach. Looking out into the Atlantic, it is one of the best areas for surfing in England, and accordingly it has hosted important tournaments for surfing. People come from all over the world in order to surf on this beach, as conditions are just so good.

Notorious as a surfing hotspot, it is the ocean and the beaches that brings in so many people, but they are not all that is on offer. Nearby there is Newquay Zoo with both the common and the uncommon animals to enjoy. Further afield, in the rest of Cornwall, there is the Tate Modern Gallery and the world-famous Eden Project, as well as the National Maritime Museum.

If you are going as a family, there is a range of accommodation, from camping to hotels, and so much to do. For the young and the young-at-heart there is plenty of adrenaline based activities such as snorkelling and biking, as well as the obvious surfing. There is also a vibrant nightlife for those who wish to partake. Alternatively there are a huge range of soothing walks, angling or just going to the shops.

There are plenty of places to eat and drink, with fine restaurants and excellent pubs, as well as coffee shops and sandwich places. For those who just want some time away, romantic walks with your partner along the coast line are both beautiful and serene. Whatever you want to do; you can do it in Newquay.
