When people think of visiting Cornwall in their minds they probably picture mostly beach related activities. Whether this is just relaxing on the beach, taking part in some fishing, or doing something more adventurous, all of the images typically revolve around the beach.
However, it is important to realise that there is much more to Cornwall, than just the beach. It is one of the most beautiful areas of the UK, and for this reason one particular sport really shines through here: golf. There are many golf courses in the area and if you are coming on holiday here it is worth doing a bit of research to find out which course you might enjoy playing.
If you are visiting the town of Padstow than one of your closest golf courses is going to be Trevose. This is a championship golf course which was initially established in the mid-1920s. As well as being a championship level course, it also enjoys incredible views of the surrounding area, including a panoramic view of the sea.
This course has a long 18-hole option, but it also has a nine hole option, if you are looking at spending a little less time on the course. This short course has a par of only 35, so it is something you will be to finish relatively quickly.
Another great golf course which is located close to Padstow is St Endoc. Like the previously mentioned course, this one also has a nine hole course in addition to the 18-hole course. The 18-hole course here is mostly dominated by experienced players, so if you are a beginner at golf, it would be best to stick to the nine hole course, as this will be more suitable for your skill level. Alternatively, if you’re feeling brave, head for the 18 holes.
