Bristol is a great destination for a short break

Bristol is found in the south west corner of England and is easily one of its most popular tourist destinations due to the fact that it sits on the River Avon and boasts some beautiful scenic sites while also serving as a centre of education and culture for England.

Due to its location, Bristol is a popular weekend getaway destination for those who live in England since it is only a  trip on the train from most cities in the UK. It offers plenty of cultural activities and entertainment for younger travellers looking to have fun. It also offers reasonable accommodation rates and the shops are moderately priced, making it a fitting choice for just about anyone.

While in Bristol the harbour is a must see as the waterfront will take your breath away, at the same time, it is also an excellent place to find some of the best seafood in the UK. In particular, you may want to check out The Glass Boat restaurant which is a floating establishment that sits out in the harbour.

Another great sight is the Clifton Suspension Bridge which hangs out over the Avon Gorge and is both a thrill to drive over or to see from afar. Those who want to get a bit of culture while in town will want to head over to the Bristol city museum and art gallery which can easily take up a few hours of the day whereas you can spend the rest of the day over at the St. Nicholas Market.
