Air Asia named as best budget airline at World Travel Awards

At the recent World Travel Awards, Air Asia was named the best budget airline in the world. Air Asia faced some stiff competition form the likes of easyJet, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines and Precision Air.

The CEO of Air Asia recently commented to the Malay Mail that his Malaysian airline was once a startup but now is a brand known internationally. It is well known for low cost travel options and prides itself on its level of innovation in their travel experience.

This is the first such award for Air Asia from the World Travel Awards. One of the goals of the company is to enable more people to fly and to make each flight an enjoyable experience.

The award for the World’s Leading Airline was given to Etihad Airways. The airline based in the United Arab Emirates didn’t stop there, also being awarded the awards for the World’s Leading Airline Cabin Crew and also the World’s Leading First Class.

The President and CEO of Etihad Airways noted that it was an honour to again receive all three of the top awards from the leading travel industry awards. This year is the 10th anniversary of the founding of Etihad Airways.
